Anupamaa TV serial: Gaurav Sharma is the new entry in Rupali Ganguly's show. He is not a new character but he has replaced Ashish Mehrotra to play the role of Toshu. Ashish quit Anupamaa reportedly to be a part of Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 that is hosted by Rohit Shetty. With new Toshu now being seen in Anupamaa, Gaurav Sharma is slowly becoming a popular among fans of Rupali Ganguly's show. So how did Gaurav Sharma came onboard to play Toshu? The actor recently spilled some beans.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Gaurav Sharma narrated the story behind him becoming Toshu in Anupamaa. The actor revealed that when producer Rajan Shahi called him for a meeting, he thought that it was regarding his character in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehkata Hai. Gaurav Sharma played Yuvraj in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and was seen in a negative character. But Rajan Shahi had actually called him for Anupamaa. He said, "Within one minute of my meeting with the makers, I was sold and accepted the offer. The show is a massive hit among the fans and I am sure that I'll get good exposure with the same."

Anupamaa is currently the highest TRP raking show currently. It is ruling the TRP charts for years now. Other shows like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin and more are unable to beat Anupamaa's TRPs so definitely the show gives a good exposure to all the stars who are a part of it. Toshu is again sort of a negative character.
