Payment for Schengen visa for Armenian citizens to remain unchanged
ArmInfo. The fee for a Schengen visa for citizens of Armenia will not change, Spokesperson for the
Armenian Foreign Ministry Ani Badalyan reported.
"Taking into account some information circulating in the press about changes in the fee for a Schengen visa, we inform you that the amount of the fee for a Schengen visa for citizens of the Republic of
Armenia is determined in accordance with the agreement dated December
17, 2012 "On simplification of the issuance of visas between the
Republic of Armenia and the European Union."
Therefore, a possible change by the European Union in the size of a
Schengen visa will not affect citizens of the Republic of Armenia.
According to the mentioned agreement, the fee associated with visa
applications is 35 euros, and if the visa is issued from an external
service provider (visa centers), then the fee for this service should
not exceed 30 euros," Badalyan explained on her Facebook account.
Days earlier, it became known that fees for a short-term Schengen
visa will increase by 12% from June 11 worldwide. This was reported
by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia.
The cost of a Schengen visa for adults will be 90 euros, and for
applicants under 12 years old - 45 euros. There will be no fees for
children under six years old, meaning everything will remain
unchanged. At the moment, the consular fee for adults is 80 euros,
and for children from 6 to 12 years old - 40 euros. The European
Commission reviews the cost of Schengen visas every three years based
on inflation and average salaries of civil servants in EU countries.
The Schengen zone includes 27 states.
