U.S ready to strengthen cooperation with Armenia in different fields
ArmInfo. On June 18, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan received US Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard Verma.
According to the press service of the RA government, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the consistent development of the strategic dialogue between Armenia and the United States, and the deepening of multi-sectoral cooperation.
Nikol Pashinyan noted that Richard Verma's visit will contribute to the discussion of issues on the agenda of bilateral relations, programs aimed at strengthening democracy and expanding economic opportunities, as well as expanding relations at the local government level.
Richard Verma, in turn, emphasized the US's readiness to strengthen cooperation with Armenia in various areas, including between local bodies of self-determination, as well as in the fields of economics, education, etc.
At the meeting, the interlocutors discussed issues related to the implementation of the agreements reached at the Armenia-EU-US high-level meeting held on April 5, 2024 in Brussels.
An exchange of views took place on the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the process of demarcation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Crossroads of the World project, as well as the implementation of the recently approved housing program for internally displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh by the RA government. Regarding the latter, Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the importance of support in this matter from international partners.
