Kalki 2898 AD: Director Nag Ashwin reveals deets of the sequel of Prabhas, Deepika Padukone starrer; has THIS to say about Kamal Haasan's role

Kalki 2898 AD: Nag Ashwin is all charged up for the sequel. In his latest interview, he shared the details of the part 2 of the film.

Kalki 2898 AD has received a lot of attention. The movie starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan has only received praises. Nag Ashwin has now established himself as one of the finest directors of the Indian cinema. Now fans are more than excited for the sequel of the film.

In an interview with Variety, Nag Ashwin shared that the team has only shot for 25 to 30 days for the sequel and a major part of it is left. He added that every loose end or thread has to be wrapped up. The most exciting part of the film would be the war between Yaskin, Ashwathama and Bhairava. He was quoted saying, "Obviously, the most important thing will be the face-off between these three, which will be between Yaskin who can now wield the Gandiva, which is thought to be the most powerful weapon, versus Karna and Ashwatthama, who are the most fearsome warriors."

Nag Ashwin further also revealed that the team did not know what they were trying to achieve when they started off making the world of Kalki 2898 AD. They wanted the film to be completely make in India, however, in the end, they had to seek the help of foreign countries as well.

The sequel of Kalki 2898 AD will revolve around Ashwathama trying to protect SUM-80 and her unborn child who is the 10th avatar of Vishnu. Yaskin is going to fight. Ashwathama is played by Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone plays SUM-80 and Yaskin is played by Kamal Haasan. Prabhas plays the role of Bhairava. In Kalki 2898 AD, we see that Bhairava takes the bounty to bring SUM-80 into Complex ruled by Yaskin. He has to fight Ashwathama for the same. The story has its roots in Mahabharata.
