Mercedes-Benz India announced its best-ever H1 sales performance in 2024, driven by strong demand for new and existing products. The company sold a record 9262 units in the first half, solidifying its position as the leading luxury carmaker in India. SUVs continued to be the most popular segment, accounting for 55% of sales. Mercedes-Benz also reported a significant increase in demand for its electric vehicles (BEVs), with a 60% growth in H1 2024 compared to the same period last year.

Expanding Electric Vehicle Portfolio

Mercedes-Benz unveiled two new BEVs to further bolster its electric vehicle portfolio: the EQA 250+ and the EQB 350 4MATIC (five-seater configuration). The EQA 250+ is a dynamic SUV designed for young customers seeking a blend of style, practicality, and electric performance. The EQB 350 4MATIC, offered for the first time in India as a five-seater, caters to young families seeking a versatile and luxurious electric SUV. Both vehicles boast advanced technology features, including high-resolution head-up displays, Burmester sound systems, and driver assistance systems.

Commitment to EV Infrastructure

Mercedes-Benz is actively building a robust charging infrastructure across its dealership network. This includes installing DC Fast and Ultra-Fast Chargers (60 kW and 180 kW), along with offering complimentary AC wall box chargers to BEV customers.

Six New Launches Planned for 2024

Mercedes-Benz plans to launch six new vehicles in the second half of 2024, further solidifying its product portfolio and catering to a wider range of customer preferences. By the end of the year, the company aims to offer a BEV in each segment, with a total of six electric vehicles available, ranging from the EQA 250+ to the luxurious EQS Maybach SUV.

With a strong first half behind them and a future focused on innovation and sustainability, Mercedes-Benz India is poised to maintain its leadership position in the Indian luxury car market.
