Amitabh Bachchan made his debut in Bollywood in 1969 with Saat Hindustani. In the first few years, Amitabh Bachchan did not taste success much. He had almost 12 flops and 2 hits films when he was age 30. But then times changed and he became the angry young man of Bollywood. Hits after hits, Amitabh Bachchan reached a newer heights of success. But then came a time when he suffered a major blow. Back in 1990s, Amitabh Bachchan faced a major financial crunch when his company AB Corporation incurred major losses. It was so much that he owed Rs 90 crore to creditors. He also had almost 55 legal cases against him. He was on the verge of losing his properties as he had signed documents on personal guarantee. In an interview with Vir Sanghvi, Amitabh Bachchan recalled how humiliating it was when creditors would show up at his doorstep everyday. He also mentioned that people who were earlier wanting to associate with him became "very hostile, became very humiliating and rude."

Amitabh Bachchan also mentioned that Dhirubhai Ambani offered help in tough times. The businessman directed his younger son Anil Ambani to help out Big B. However, Amitabh Bachchan couldn't accept the help offered. Then Yash Chopra came to his rescue. Big B landed Mohabattein that became a massive hit at the box office. Big B had returned and how! Kaun Banega Crorepati also served to be his second lifeline to success. Now, Amitabh Bachchan and Jay Bachchan's combined net worth is more than Rs 1500 crore. Amitabh Bachchan is 81 years old and is still killing it at the box office.
