Karan Johar opens up on his struggles dealing with Body Dysmorphia; 'Even in moments of intimacy...'

Karan Johar in a recent interview spoke about dealing with body image issues. He recalled his childhood and also shared how uncomfortable he feels even while getting into a pool.

Karan Johar is currently in the news as the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani director opened up about suffering from body dysmorphia. Karan Johar has always been quite vocal about his struggles and much more. So in a recent interview, Karan Johar shared that he has struggled from body dysmorphia from the age of 3. He recalled how he felt as a child when he was laughed at during a talent competition. He shared that he felt that he had failed his parents.

In an interview with Faye Dsouza, Karan Johar recalled that he performed a dance at the talent competition and he could tell that people were laughing at him. He returned home, looked himself and started crying thinking 'Why can't I be like other boys?' Next he recalled that that he joined a public speaking class as he was battling from body image issues. He shared that a gentleman told him that it won't be an easy life for him as he had an effeminate voice. He attended classes to bring baritone in his voice. KJo shared that he used to tell his father that he was going to attend computer classed.

Karan Johar also mentioned that he feels very awkward in many situations. His quote read, "I have body dysmorphia. I am very awkward getting into a pool. I don't know how to do it without feeling pathetic. I try hard to overcome it. I always wear oversized clothes." He also added, "Even in moments of intimacy I put the lights out." In the same interview, he also spoke about his kids Yash and Roohi and how the genetics are working.
