Maruti Suzuki’s first electric vehicle, the eVX, is inching closer to launch with the recent sighting of test mules sporting final production-spec lighting. Previously, these test vehicles were seen with temporary headlights and taillights.

Promising Range and Specifications

Expected to launch in 2025, the eVX is anticipated to boast a 60 kWh battery pack with a dual-motor setup, offering a competitive range of up to 550 km. This, combined with the possibility of all-wheel drive (AWD), positions the eVX as a compelling contender in the electric SUV market.

Design Cues Emerge from Testing

The latest spy shots reveal several key design elements that closely resemble the Suzuki eVX concept showcased in January 2023. The overall dimensions are expected to be similar, placing the eVX in the compact SUV segment (approximately 4,300 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, and 1,600 mm tall).

Headlights and Taillights Take Shape

The new test mules showcase permanent LED headlights with projector beams and distinctive LED DRL unline the previous text mules with old temporary headlamps. The taillights also appear finalized, featuring a stacked design with a potential connecting LED light bar, These test mules, however, lacked the final production-spec alloy wheels seen in recent Indian spy shots.

The eVX marks the beginning of Maruti Suzuki’s electrification journey in India. The company aims to introduce six battery-powered models by 2030, with the eVX paving the way for a future of sustainable mobility.
