The volume of industrial production in Armenia for January-May 2024 amounted to 1,182,982.7 million drams (at current prices), marking a 22% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to the data published by the National Statistical Committee of Armenia on Tuesday.

In May, the industrial production volume was 229,707.0 million drams, a 6.9% increase compared to May 2023, though a 0.2% decrease compared to April 2024.

The volume of production in the mining industry and open-pit mining operations for the first five months of the current year was 178,937.0 million drams, an 8.8% decrease compared to the same period in 2023. The manufacturing industry saw a production volume of 842,549.2 million drams, a 33.7% increase.

The supply of electricity, gas, steam, and conditioned air totaled 149,296.3 million drams, up by 13.3%, while the water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities sector recorded a volume of 12,200.2 million drams, a 5.7% increase.

The manufacturing industry accounted for the largest share of industrial production from January to May, at 71.2%. The mining industry and open-pit mining operations accounted for 15.1%, electricity, gas, steam, and conditioned air supply for 12.6%, and water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities for 1.1%.
