After the incident, Gurucharan Singh was recently spotted at the Mumbai airport as he marked his return to the bay. Now, in an interview with Bombay Times, the actor has broken his silence about his disappearance and revealed why he returned. The actor stated that he has always been spiritual and when he was feeling low, he decided to turn toward God. He added that he did not have plans to come back but God gave him a sign and he returned home. He also spoke about rumours calling his disappearance a publicity stunt. He stated that it is not true. He was quoted saying, "If I wanted publicity, I could have given interviews to talk about the pending dues for my work in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. I could have used social media to do that, but I didn't." He also added that he could have given interviews even after he returned home.
