Hyundai India is celebrating the first anniversary of its well-received Exter SUV with the launch of the all-new Exter Knight Edition. This special edition adds a dash of darkness and sporty flair to the popular SUV, following the blacked-out treatment seen on the Creta and Venue models.

Launched in July 2023, the Exter has quickly captured the hearts of Indian SUV buyers. Hyundai has sold a remarkable 93,000 units in just one year, solidifying Exter’s position in the company’s lineup.

Darkness Takes Center Stage

The Exter Knight Edition exudes a bold, blacked-out look. The side sills receive a sleek paint job, while red accents on the front and rear bumpers add a touch of aggression. The skid plates trade their usual grey for a stealthy black finish.

Dual-Tone Options and Knightly Touches

The Knight Edition boasts two new color options: Abyss Black and Shadow Grey. These join existing choices like Starry Night, Atlas White, and Ranger Khaki. The top-of-the-line SX(O) Connect variant gets blacked-out alloy wheels with contrasting red brake calipers, further amplifying the sporty appeal. A unique Knight emblem completes the transformation.

Blacked-Out Cabin with Red Accents

The interior mirrors the exterior’s theme with a blacked-out cabin accented by red stitching. Red highlights grace the dashboard’s AC vents, and red footwell lighting adds a touch of ambiance. Even the door handles receive a black treatment, and the floor mats boast red stitching for a cohesive look.

Proven Performance Under the Hood

The Exter Knight Edition retains the standard Exter’s reliable engine: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit generating 83 horsepower and 114 Nm of torque. This engine pairs with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox, offering a familiar driving experience.

Exter Knight Edition: Variants and Pricing

The Hyundai Exter Knight Edition starts at ₹8.38 lakh for the base SX manual transmission (MT) variant. Opting for a dual-tone paint scheme adds ₹24,000 across all trims. Prices range up to ₹10.43 lakh for the top-of-the-line SX(O) Connect automatic transmission (AMT) with a dual-tone paint job.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Tarun Garg, COO, HMIL, said: “We are thrilled to introduce the Hyundai Exter Knight, embodying the bold spirit of today’s young Indian buyers. The positive customer response to the Exter, with over 93,000 units sold, has been overwhelming. Leveraging the popularity of black exteriors among SUV customers, the Hyundai Exter Knight reflects the evolving aspirations of our customers.”
