BMW Motorrad India has commenced the pre-bookings for its first electric two-wheeler – the BMW CE 04. Globally unveiled in July 2021, this futuristic machine made its India debut in December 2022 and is finally set to hit the streets on July 24th.

A Bold New Vision in Electric Scooters

The CE 04 breaks away from conventional scooter designs with its edgy, sharp aesthetic. From the floating seat and layered side panels to the exposed mono-shock, every element is crafted to turn heads. The scooter boasts a low profile with a diagonally rising front, a sleek bench-type seat, and sculpted bodywork. With dimensions of 2285mm long, 855mm wide, and 1150mm tall, it offers a comfortable seat height of 780mm, expandable to 800mm with an optional comfort seat.

Performance Packed with Everyday Usability

The CE 04 is powered by an 8.9 kWh battery, delivering a range of 130 km on a single charge – perfect for zipping around the city or conquering short commutes. Its electric motor packs a punch with a maximum output of 41 bhp and a peak torque of 62 Nm, propelling the scooter to an electronically limited top speed of 120 kmph. Riders can choose from three riding modes, all featuring traction control and ABS for enhanced safety. A Type-C charging port ensures convenient recharging, while a reverse function adds to the scooter’s practicality.

Technology and Safety at the Forefront

The CE 04 is built on a robust steel double-loop frame, featuring a single-bridge telescopic fork up front and a single-sided swingarm with directly hinged suspension at the rear. It rides on stylish 15-inch wheels and utilizes 265mm disc brakes at both ends for confident stopping power. The feature list is equally impressive, with full LED lighting for superior visibility and a stunning 10.25-inch TFT color screen. This display offers built-in navigation and smartphone connectivity, keeping riders informed with performance data, range, and charging time. Safety is further enhanced with three ride modes (Eco, Rain, and Road). Dynamic traction control and ABS Pro are also available as optional extras.

Price and Availability

With its premium design, advanced technology, and electric performance, the BMW CE 04 is expected to be priced above the Rs 10 lakh mark, making it one of the most expensive electric scooters in India. Customers can visit their nearest BMW dealership to pre-book their CE 04 before its official launch on July 24th.
