YEREVAN, July 18. /ARKA/. Babken Pipoyan, the head of the Informed and Protected Consumer NGO, published a letter from the head of Rosselkhoznadzor, Russia’s veterinary and agriculture supervisor, to the head of Armenia's Food Safety Inspection Body on Facebook on Thursday.

The letter reported eight new cases of excessive pesticide levels in Armenian products and noted that no investigation had been conducted on earlier cases, prompting Rosselkhoznadzor to ban imports from certain companies and request a thorough investigation.

Pipoyan criticized the polarized reactions, stating, pro-Russian Armenians see this as a response to anti-Russian policies, while anti-Russian voices argue that it shows Russia's negative intentions. However, the focus should be on the fact that only a few companies are affected, and there has been no follow-up on reports of excessive pesticide levels since May.
