Durgesh Kumar, aka Banrakas' acting journey has been full of ups and downs. The actor endured numerous challenges before securing his place in the popular show. The Panchayat star revealed his casting process for the Prime Video series in an interview. Durgesh Kumar recalled how Navneet Ranga, an assistant director, had called him and mentioned an audition for a photographer role in a series. Durgesh attended the audition, and the writer of Aspirants later performed the role. Navneet then offered him another scene, which the actor accepted, and this scene was of Bhushan, aka Banrakas.

After some time, the Panchayat star revealed that he had heard about the casting for the second season of Panchayat, but he was uncertain about his selection. Eventually, Gulshan, the associate casting director, informed him that they had extended his role to 20 days. Later, Durgesh discovered that he would also be part of the third season. Furthermore, Durgesh Kumar opened up about doing B-grade or soft-p*rn movies during his early days.

To manage survival in Mumbai, Durgesh had to be a part of such movies. The actor told Mid-Day that he convinced himself to be a part of such movies by telling himself that no one gives you room for rent in the city. The actor knew that friends also don't give money. Durgesh mentioned that it is unrealistic to rely on friends' financial support for 10 20 years. Instead, he focused on the importance of becoming independent through such small things.
