Yerevan reluctant to open brackets - opposition MP

ArmInfo. Official Yerevan is in no hurry to fully open the brackets, but it is obvious that an attempt is being made for radical changes in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, which has an ideological, political and conceptual basis. NA deputy from the With Honor faction Tigran Abrahamyan wrote about this.

Earlier, U.S. Under Secretary of State for Civil Security, Democracy and Human Rights Uzra Zeya confirmed information that a representative of the American army will work in the Armenian Ministry of Defense. In her opinion, this indicates "the historical fact of the transition to a new stage of strategic partnership."

"The statement by the US Deputy Secretary of State about the intention to send a dyer to the RA Ministry of Defense was never clarified by the government. It is clear that a high-ranking American official did not raise this issue by chance, which means that the parties have a political decision on it," Abrahamyan said.

He recalled that earlier the head of the French defense department said that they were preparing plans to deepen military cooperation with the RA Armed Forces through the military attache in Armenia.

"Of course, it is one thing to expand military cooperation with the active involvement of the military attache, another is the presence of a representative in the Ministry of Defense, which, according to the American diplomat, is a historical fact of entering the scene. strategic partnership, - noted the opposition deputy.

From a purely military point of view, he continued, this or that model does not guarantee the formation of an army according to the standards corresponding to it - this requires a huge amount of work and correct, qualified and competent military-political modifications, which are "excluded under the current military- political leadership."

"Secondly, it remains to be understood whether the existing political agreements imply a jump in the combat effectiveness of the main Armenian army, or whether they imply a purely geopolitical goal to show that separation from the Russian Federation also goes towards security, which is a key component of the polar revisions," concluded Tigran Abrahamyan.
