Hero Surge Wins Coveted A’ Design Award for Groundbreaking Modular Electric Vehicle

Hero MotoCorp is celebrating a major win for innovation! The company’s Hero Surge electric vehicle (EV) has been awarded the prestigious Platinum A’ Design Award in the Vehicle, Mobility, and Transportation Design category.

Hero Surge: A Two-Wheeler and Three-Wheeler in One

The Hero Surge EV stands out for its revolutionary design, allowing it to seamlessly transform between a two-wheeler and a three-wheeler in a mere three minutes. This adaptability is further enhanced by an intelligent interface that automatically adjusts controls and displays based on the chosen vehicle mode. This groundbreaking concept represents the culmination of four years of dedicated work by Hero Hatch, Hero MotoCorp’s in-house incubation center, and underscores the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of mobility solutions.

Developed as the Hero Surge S32, this modular EV caters to a wide range of applications. Hero MotoCorp’s Surge startup offers three cargo variants and a passenger-carrying variant (e-rickshaw) within the S32 platform. While the production status of this innovative design remains unconfirmed, it has undoubtedly generated significant interest within the mobility sector.

Power and Performance Tailored for Each Configuration

The Hero Surge S32 prioritizes both power and efficiency. The three-wheeler configuration boasts a 13.4 bhp electric motor, drawing power from an 11 kWh battery pack. This setup enables a top speed of 50 km/h and a load-carrying capacity of 500 kg, making it ideal for commercial applications. The scooter configuration utilizes a smaller 3.5 kWh battery pack and a 4 bhp motor, offering a slightly higher top speed of 60 km/h.

The Hero Surge’s ability to adapt to diverse needs and its focus on both power and efficiency make it a compelling concept. Its success at the A’ Design Award suggests that the future of mobility might embrace such adaptable and user-friendly designs.
