Ararat Mirzoyan participates in round table at the British International Institute for Strategic Studies

ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign  Minister Ararat Mirzoyan took part in a round table with the  participation of representatives of expert circles, organized at the  British International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in  London.  

As reported by the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, in  his opening speech Mirzoyan presented the agenda of reforms being  carried out by the government of the Republic and the recorded  achievements, foreign policy priorities and the main directions of  cooperation with international partners for their implementation.  

In this vein, he touched upon the high-level political dialogue with  the UK and the prospects for developing cooperation within the  framework of the strategic dialogue launched in November last year.  In the context of deepening the partnership with the EU, Mirzoyan  touched upon the decisions of the EU Council adopted on the same day  regarding the provision of support to Armenia within the framework of  the European Peace Facility and the launch of a dialogue on visa  liberalization, emphasizing that they are consistent with the  established valuable partnership and the European aspirations of the  citizens of Armenia.  

The head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry presented in detail the  current security situation in the South Caucasus and the latest  developments in the direction of regulating relations with neighbors.  Mirzoyan pointed out the vision of the Republic of Armenia in  establishing stability and lasting peace in the region and the steps  taken in this direction.  

In the context of the process of normalization of relations between  Armenia and Azerbaijan, Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of  concluding a peace treaty in a short time.  Pointing out the  importance of ensuring stable peace in the region from an economic  development perspective, the head of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia  presented the "Crossroads of the World" project proposed by the  Government of the Republic and the response of international  partners.
