FIR actress Kavita Kaushik quits TV industry; strongly reacts to regressive content, 'Keep getting offered projects on daayans'

Kavita Kaushik calls out the regressive content shown on television nowadays and reveals she has no interest in working in the TV industry anymore.

Kavita Kaushik made her TV debut in 2001 with the show Kutumb. Since then, the actress has appeared on several popular shows, including Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kahani Terrii Merrii, Kumkum: Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan, Remix, FIR, and many others. In 2022, the actress made her final appearance on the show Maddam Sir. However, since then, Kavita hasn't signed up for any new projects. Based on her recent statement, it appears that the actress was dissatisfied with the types of roles assigned to women and the overall structure of shows. The actress revealed that she has quit the TV industry.

In an interview, Kavita Kaushik stated that she is not interested in working in the TV industry at all. Kavita stated that she can't work for 30 days. However, the actress is open to doing web shows or movies, as she's not a typical-looking heroine who can easily get cast in all kinds of shoots. Kaushik believes that there are only a few types of roles that suit her personality. She was being offered to play witches in TV shows like Shaitaani Rasmein.

The FIR actress further told Times Now that she can't have the same life she had three years ago, when she was doing full-time television. She is thankful for that phase, as she was young and wanted money. However, at this stage of her life, she cannot dedicate the same amount of time. Even though her cop comedy show, FIR, didn't take a lot of time, the actress revealed she would crib.

Furthermore, the Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii actress slammed the television industry for being regressive. That's one of the reasons Kavita Kaushik doesn't want to be involved in the television industry. Kavita stated how there was a time when TV was progressive and had different kinds of shows, variety, and entertainment for everyone. However, the current content is bad for young people. Kavita believes that the kind of regression shown in reality shows and dramas today makes people hate each other.

Kavita Kaushik even apologized for being involved in shows like this and contributing to the regression. The actress revealed that she doesn't approve of what's shown on TV. "Jo bhi bolo, hum Indians hain, and hume lagta hai jo TV par dikh raha hai vo sach hain (At the end of the day, we are Indians, and we think whatever is shown on television is the truth). We subconsciously get inspired by it," stated the actress.

Meanwhile, along with working on TV shows, Kavita Kaushik has also worked in several movies like Ek Hasina Thi, Zanjeer, Carry on Jatta 3, etc. The actress has participated in reality shows like Nach Baliye 3, Comedy Circus Ka Jadoo, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8, and Bigg Boss 14.
