Skoda Auto India has emerged as a frontrunner in environmental sustainability, becoming one of Skoda’s first automakers in the country to receive E20 certification from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) for its 1.0 TSI engine.

This achievement marks a significant step towards cleaner mobility in India. The E20 fuel blend, consisting of 20% ethanol derived from renewable sources and 80% petrol, offers a path to reduced emissions and a more sustainable future.

Skoda’s Commitment to Efficiency

The 1.0 TSI engine exemplifies this focus, with its proven track record of delivering power and efficiency. Paving the Way for a Sustainable Future

The 1.0 TSI engine, powering the Kushaq SUV and Slavia sedan, is currently available with both six-speed manual and automatic transmissions in E20-compliant variants. Testing for the 1.5 TSI engine is underway, with certification expected by Q4 2024. This proactive approach ensures Skoda remains compliant with the Indian government’s mandate for all new cars to be E20-compatible by April 1, 2025.

The E20 fuel blend not only reduces reliance on fossil fuels but also lowers emissions. This translates to cleaner air and a more environmentally responsible transportation sector.
