KGF 3: Ajith Kumar teams up with Prashanth Neel for a major role in Yash starrer; signs 2 projects?

There's exciting news for all the Ajith Kumar fans. The Tamil superstar has reportedly signed two projects with director Prashanth Neel. Neel is the man behind two of the biggest hits in the South Indian film industry over the past few years the KGF franchise and Salaar. Following his collaborations with Yash and Prabhas, it appears that Neel has now decided to team up with Ajith. However, there's a more exciting update on their collaboration.

As reported by DT Next, Prashanth Neel will cast Ajith Kumar in his biggest movie franchise, KGF. According to reports, Kumar will play a pivotal role in KGF 3, which stars Yash in the lead role. The film would mark Ajith's first collaboration with the director. A source told the portal that the superstar and the director met during the VidaaMuyarchi schedule break last month. For the past three years, the Salaar director has wanted to work with Ajith.

The report further mentioned that Ajith Kumar and Prashanth Neel's first collaboration will be a standalone project that will go on floors in 2025. The film, which is being cited at AK 64, will release in 2026. Neel has also written a solid part for the actor in KGF 3. Prashanth plans to create a unique universe alongside him, which will feature a crossover with Yash's KGF. The film's climax will lead to KGF 3, thus incorporating Ajith into the franchise. The Prashanth Neel Cinematic Universe is touting it as their biggest movie to date. So far, the actor and the director have no confirmed rumours about their collaboration.

Ajith Kumar last appeared in the 2023 film Thunivu. Ajith Kumar's VidaaMuyarchi film is currently on hold. The film also stars Priya Bhavani Shankar, Sanjay Dutt, and Trisha Krishnan.

On the other hand, Prashanth Neel has planned some big movies for the audience. The filmmaker has joined hands with Jr NTR for the actor's 31st project. Neel also has Salaar: Part 2 Shouryaanga Parvam, which stars Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The first part was released in 2023. He will also be working on the third installment of his superhit franchise KGF with actor Yash.
