Russian, Azerbaijani deputy FMs discuss South Caucasus

Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin held consultations with his 

Azerbaijani counterpart Samir Sharifov.

According to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the 

state and prospects of Russian- Azerbaijani relations were discussed 

at the meeting, with an emphasis on topical issues on the current 

bilateral agenda. The contact schedule for the near future has been 

considered.

According to the department, an exchange of views took place on the 

joint steps of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the two countries 

in order to deepen the political dialogue, build up trade, economic, 

cultural and humanitarian cooperation in accordance with the 

provisions of the Declaration on Allied Cooperation between Russia 

and Azerbaijan dated February 22, 2022.

"A number of topical issues related to the situation in and around 

the South Caucasus were touched upon.  Mutual interest was expressed 

in continuing the rhythmic activities of the Consultative Regional 

Platform "3+3".

The consultations took place in the traditionally friendly and allied 

atmosphere characteristic of the dialogue between Moscow and Baku," 

the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
