Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, has announced the appointment of Mr. Andamuthu Ponnusamy as Head of Bus Business, effective July 1, 2024. Mr. Ponnusamy brings over 35 years of experience in the automotive industry, specializing in operations management.

A Strong Foundation for Bus Business Growth

Mr. Satyakam Arya, Managing Director & CEO of DICV, commented on the appointment, highlighting Mr. Ponnusamy’s experience and leadership qualities. He expressed confidence that Mr. Ponnusamy will drive strategic initiatives and operational excellence, propelling the bus business to new heights.

Mr. Ponnusamy’s background includes instrumental roles in setting up DICV’s truck assembly operations and leading the Cab Production and Truck Operating Systems departments. He played a key role in the successful launch of the BharatBenz BS6 truck range.

In 2021, Mr. Ponnusamy’s responsibilities expanded to include Bus Production. He successfully integrated bus operations and spearheaded a significant production increase for fully built buses. His focus on cost savings through strategic collaboration with various teams has proven highly effective.
