Armenian government approves construction of first sanitary landfill

YEREVAN, July 25. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has approved the construction of the country's first sanitary landfill, with a total project cost of €11 million. The financing will include €5.5 million as a loan and €5.5 million as a grant./pp

The landfill will be part of the Solid Waste Management program in Armenia./pp

The project includes the completion of a new landfill in Hrazdan and the construction of waste processing stations in the communities of Martuni and Akunk. Additionally, contracts have been awarded for the procurement of 28 garbage trucks and 6,400 waste bins following a tender process./pp

The program aims to implement a waste collection system that meets European standards in all communities of Kotayk and Gegharkunik provinces./p br br
