Armenia`s Rescue Service, Kansas Army National Guard stregthening cooperation

Tsutsulyan received a delegation led by Brigadier General Anthony
Mohat, Kansas Army National Guard Commander.
During the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue
and expand active cooperation, which will strengthen the potential of
Armenian rescuers and increase the effectiveness of emergency
response. According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal
Affairs, at the meeting, Kamo Tsutsulyan noted the successful
completion of the cooperation program implemented by the US Defense
Risk Reduction Agency in the field of chemical, biological, radiation
and nuclear safety. As part of this program, Kansas National Guard
rescuers and members of the Guard's civil support group conducted
joint exercises last year.
Tsutsulian emphasized the importance of the assessments and trainings
that allowed for jointly identifying needs and identifying priority
solutions to problems. Anthony Mohat, in turn, spoke about the
emergency management model used by the Kansas National Guard and the
systemic approaches to rapid response. He provided details of the
personnel's participation in search and rescue and firefighting
operations and technical equipment. Mohat emphasized the importance
of the emergency command certification process and inquired about
measures aimed at improving the professional level of rescuers in
Armenia.
