Придется драться с другим? Почему Рахмонову рано радоваться из-за нового чемпиона UFC

Шавкат Рахмонов (18-0) является одним из фаворитов на титульный бой в полусреднем весе UFC. Смена чемпиона в этом дивизионе может ускорить процесс получения казахстанцем поединка за пояс, а может и наоборот. Корреспондент Vesti.kz поразмышлял на эту тему.

28 июля чемпион в весовой категории до 77 килограммов сменился впервые за два года. Англичанин Леон Эдвардс (22-4-0-1), дравшийся в своей стране, потерпел первое поражение почти за девять лет, и лишился статуса чемпиона UFC. Он единогласным решением судей проиграл американскому бойцу палестинского происхождения Белалу Мухаммаду (24-3-0-1).

36-летний Мухаммад стал самым возрастным чемпионом в истории полусреднего веса. Еще никому не удавалось впервые завоевать пояс этого дивизиона в столь зрелом, по бойцовским меркам, возрасте.

Мухаммад ответил, что никогда не отказывался от поединков, и он готов к любой оппозиции, чтобы стать величайшим бойцом-полусредневесом. 

Но станет ли именно Рахмонов следующим претендентом на пояс? Ведь есть и другие кандидаты. К примеру, экс-чемпион Камару Усман (20-4), кажется, верит, что даже после трех поражений подряд он вправе рассчитывать на титульник благодаря первой строчке в рейтинге. Не исключен вариант, при котором кому-то из руководства UFC придет в голову организовать реванш между Белалом и Эдвардсом.

Но Рахмонов выглядит более заслуженным претендентом на их фоне, хотя и не исключено, что для титульного боя ему придется побить еще кого-то из топ-7. Многое зависит и от того, когда Мухаммад насладится триумфом и будет готов вновь выйти в клетку.

Это будет номерной турнир UFC 308, и традиционно промоушен постарается организовать там как можно больше крутых боев с участием бойцов-мусульман. Так как Мухаммад палестинец и представляет эту страну в UFC, болельщиков в арабском регионе у него должно быть чуть ли не больше всех в лиге.

Если он захочет выступить на UFC 308, то вариант с Рахмоновом вполне возможен. Как раз казахстанец будет готов вернуться в сентябре-октябре. С другой стороны, на эту дату будет доступен и Усман. И тут будут решать уже боссы UFC.

На бой против Эдвардса Белал вышел в октагон впервые за 14 месяцев. Так что, с учетом его возраста, не исключено, что он вернется к делу только в следующем году. Тогда Рахмонов может успеть побить кого-то еще, закрепиться в статусе главного претендента и выйти на титульник в 2025-м. Главное, чтобы у него не было травм.
