Political consultations held between Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Togo

ArmInfo. On July 29, Political consultations were held between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Togo. As reported by the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia, the consultations were led by the Head of the Middle East and Africa Department of the MFA of Armenia Arsen Arakelyan and Director of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Togolese Abroad Malemda Kamele.

International and regional issues were discussed during the consultations. The participants touched upon a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, including the cooperation between the two countries in trade and economic sphere, high technologies, education, science, culture, protection of cultural heritage and other spheres. Both sides expressed their readiness to expand the political dialogue, strengthen the bilateral legal framework and conduct bilateral high-level visits. The importance of expanding cooperation on international platforms and mutual support were noted as well.

The delegation was also hosted by Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan, who presented the security situation in the South Caucasus, the efforts of Armenia aimed at strengthening peace and security in the region. The cooperation priorities of Armenia with the countries of the African region were also touched upon at the meeting.
