Maserati Grecale Priced from Rs 1.31 Crore: A New Compact Luxury Option

Maserati has officially entered the compact luxury SUV segment in India with the launch of the Grecale. Positioned as a sportier and more compact alternative to the Levante, the Grecale is available in three trims: GT, Modena, and Trofeo.

Design and Pricing

Priced competitively at Rs 1.31 crore (ex-showroom), the Grecale directly challenges the Porsche Macan. While sharing a familial resemblance with its larger sibling, the Levante, the Grecale boasts unique design elements such as a distinctive grille, striking headlights, and a redesigned Maserati trident logo adorning the C-pillar. The rear profile, though similar, is scaled down for a sportier stance, accentuated by sleek taillights connected by a chrome strip.

Interior

The Grecale’s interior is a testament to modern luxury and driver-centric design. A trio of digital displays takes center stage, with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster providing essential driving information, a head-up display projecting critical data onto the windshield, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen controlling the infotainment system. A unique circular display on the center console adds a touch of sophistication, offering customizable functions like a clock, compass, G-meter, or chronometer.

Powertrain and Performance

Powering the Grecale is a range of petrol engines. The GT and Modena variants feature a 2.0-liter four-cylinder mild-hybrid setup, producing 300hp and 330hp respectively. At the pinnacle of the range sits the Trofeo, equipped with a potent 3.0-liter V6 engine derived from the MC20 supercar, delivering a staggering 530hp. All variants come paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive.

Features and Trim Levels

The Grecale offers a comprehensive suite of features across its trim levels. The base GT includes LED headlights, 19-inch wheels, a premium audio system, and many comfort and convenience features. The Modena builds upon this foundation with added sporty elements like 20-inch wheels, black exterior accents, and upgraded interior materials. The range-topping Trofeo exudes performance and luxury, featuring 21-inch wheels, carbon fiber accents, and a more aggressive exterior design.

Availability and Future Plans

Maserati India has confirmed that pre-configured Grecale models are available for immediate delivery. However, customers seeking personalized vehicles may have to wait five to eight months. The brand has also hinted at the arrival of the all-electric Grecale Folgore in India, though a specific timeline has not been announced.

With the launch of the Grecale, Maserati aims to capture a wider audience while maintaining its reputation for Italian craftsmanship and performance.
