Spiritual leader of the Islamic Revolution: "Zangezur corridor" harms Armenia and is not in its interests

ArmInfo. The press service of the RA government presented details of the meeting between RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in Tehran.  Seyed Ali Khamenei thanked the Prime Minister for visiting Tehran to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President Pezeshkian. The interlocutors expressed confidence that Armenia and Iran will continue to take steps to develop warm and friendly relations for the benefit of the progress of both states and peoples, the statement said.

Meanwhile, as reported by the Mehr agency, during the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei said that Tehran believes that the so-called "Zangezur Corridor" harms Armenia and does not meet its interests.  "We insist on this approach and firmly believe in development of relations with Armenia. Cooperation between the two countries will continue based on mutual interests and regardless of the policies of other nations," the spiritual leader of Iran said, adding that foreigners should not create restrictions in relations with neighboring countries.
