Rep. James Comer On The Trump Assassination Attempt Investigation: ‘One Of The Few Times We’ve Had Bipartisanship’

Kentucky Republican Congressman James Comer joins Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla to explain why the recent House Oversight Committee hearing featuring now former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle was one of the rare occasions where Republicans and Democrats were of the same mind.

“This is one of the few times we have bipartisanship. I think the Democrats are smart enough to realize that everyone in America was offended and outraged that shooter was allowed to be in plain sight for over an hour and absolutely nothing was done to prevent the assassination attempt. I think that they get it. And, they know that the problem needs to be fixed because they should be worried about Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. I mean, they’re not in any better shape than Donald Trump, in my opinion. They’re just as many crazy people out there and terrorist organizations and everything else that would want to go after a Democrat. So, we shouldn’t have to worry about whether or not our Secret Service can protect our leaders in America. But we know for sure they cannot. I mean, that was complete incompetence. And if you study the history of the Oversight Committee investigating the Secret Service dating back to when Jason Chaffetz was chair, they outlined these problems from whistleblowers and others that the Secret Service, weren’t promoting the best and the brightest. They weren’t properly trained. And the morale was low and nobody had confidence in the leaders and all of that. So I think that that’s something that has to be addressed. And I think the Democrats are with us on that.”

Jimmy and Rep. Comer also discuss why no one in the Biden administration has been fired following the assassination attempt on former President Trump. Listen to the podcast to hear what else they talked about!
