Zareen Khan opens up for the first time on how being a Katrina Kaif 'lookalike' affected her career

Khan also spoke about being tagged as an "arrogant" person in the film industry.

Zareen Khan told Bharti and Harsh that after her movie Veer, life was awful for her. She got a lot of criticism for the movie. However, she continues to describe her movie with Salman Khan as a life-changing moment, despite its significant scale. The Housefull 2 star said that initially, the comparisons with Katrina Kaif made her happy. However, things took an opposite turn in the film industry.

The actress mentioned that being compared to Katrina Kaif was initially a big compliment for her, especially since she used to be overweight. However, it eventually had negative consequences. She felt like a lost child in the industry, unfamiliar with most people and only recognising producers and directors by their names, not their faces. However, people began to perceive her as arrogant, especially given that Salman Khan had launched her.

Further, Zareen Khan said that the criticism affected her so much at one point that she was scared about leaving her house. The Aksar 2 actress was scared to step out as she worried what comments people would pass on her clothes. The comparison with Katrina Kaif went in a bad way, and she was called overweight. Zareen claimed she received so many insults that all she wanted to do at the time was stay at home.

Following Veer, Zareen Khan collaborated with Salman Khan on the song Character Dheela, from his 2011 film Ready. The actress didn't work with Salman after that. Zareen, on the other hand, has appeared in several films, including Housefull 2, Aksar 2, Hate Story 3, and several others.
