Sisian to host Armenian-Iranian festival "Navasard"

ArmInfo. Sisian will host the third Armenian-Iranian festival "Navasard", showcasing the culture and cuisine of Armenia and Iran. As reported by the press service of the Tourism Federation, the event aims to create a unified regional tourism product between Armenia and Iran, enhance cooperation and friendship between the two countries, preserve the development and popularization of cultural heritage, as well as promote the image of the Republic of Armenia and the Syunik region as a stable, secure and attractive tourist destination. The event will present the diversity and history of the national cuisine of both countries, emphasizing their unique features and similarities.

The festival area will feature cultural and musical zones where the attendees can get acquainted with the arts and crafts of Armenia and Iran.  Additionally, a culinary competition will be held during the event.  The festival is organized by the Armenian Tourism Federation and the "Development and Preservation of Armenian Culinary Traditions" NGO with the support of the Tourism Committee, and in cooperation with the Syunik Province Administration of the Republic of Armenia, the Sisian Municipality, the Cultural Center Embassy of the Islamic Republic  in the Republic of Armenia and the Consulate General of Iran in Kapan. 

"Navasard" will be held on August 10 from 16:00 to 22:30 at Sisak Nahapet Square in Sisian. It is worth noting that according to the Tourism Committee, 69 thousand Iranian tourists visited Armenia in January- June of this year accounting for 7% of the total number of international visitors who chose Armenia as their tourist destination. This figure has increased by 19% annually.
