Armenia`s ministry of interior refutes report on beating of detainee

ArmInfo. A video has been spread on social networks in which a user accused the employees of the Patrol Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia of beating and injuring his brother. According to him, the incident occurred after his brother parked his car in a prohibited place.

The publication also claimed that the police officers insulted not only the detainee, but also the entire people of Artsakh. According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Internal Security and Anti-Corruption Department of the department conducted an investigation using CCTV cameras, the study of which showed that this information is not true.

According to the video recordings from the surveillance cameras, the detainee was not beaten and did not suffer any fractures. In addition, it was established that no offensive statements were made against the detainee, much less against the people of Artsakh. Moreover, the detainee himself hit the police officer, in connection with which a criminal case was opened. The Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that at the time of the arrest, only one group of two patrols was involved, and not 10 police officers, as stated in the publication.
