Ranbir Kapoor talks about how to deal with mental health issues; 'Don't use it as...'

Ranbir Kapoor recently had a candid chat with Nikhil Kamath wherein he spoke about everything surrounding his life. From films to Alia Bhatt, his bond with Rishi Kapoor and daughter Raha Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor poured his heart out. In the same chat, he also spoke about living with the tag of being a 'cheater' and 'Casanova'. He also spoke about mental health issue. Ranbir Kapoor confessed going to a therapist for mental health. He mentioned that he sought help of a therapist but it did not work for him.

Ranbir Kapoor mentioned that he took the help of the therapy before his father Rishi Kapoor got diagnosed with cancer. He pointed out two reasons why it did not work for him. He shared, that he couldn't express himself to the therapist and secondly, he was being taught how to manipulate life. Ranbir Kapoor then added, "In order to overcome all this, there is a method that you can learn by teaching yourself certain things. Whatever he was telling me, it made me realise that I don't want to manipulate life. I don't want to put some emotion aside to avoid it because it gives me peace."

Further in the interview, he also spoke about how he feels people should deal with mental health issues. He said that it should be tackled quietly and a lot of grace. It should not be used as an excuse to not do things or be responsible. He said, "It's a problem, find a solution and keep working at it."

Ranbir Kapoor spoke candidly also about Rishi Kapoor's passing. He mentioned that he did not cry even when his father passed away. He revealed that he got a panic attack when doctors told him that Rishi Kapoor has only a few hours left. "I don't think I have grieved, understood the loss," he said.
