Almost 50 per cent of poll respondents believe Yerevan mayor should resign

YEREVAN, 6 August. /ARKA/. Nearly half of Yerevan residents (49.9%) want the incumbent mayor Tigran Avinyan to step down, according to the findings of a poll conducted by the Armenian representative office of GALLUP International Association./pp
In particular, 32.6 per cent of respondents said Avinyan should definitely resign, while 17.3 per cent said he should rather resign./pp
The results of the survey were unveiled today by the head of the office Aram Navasardyan./pp
At the same time, 11.4 per cent of respondents believe that he should not resign, while 18.2 per cent believe that he rather should not. Another 20.5% of respondents found it difficult to answer./pp
A total of 808 respondents took part in the telephone survey conducted from 30 July to 2 August. -0-/p
