Citizens received calls from unknown persons claiming that their relative, who is in another country, allegedly had an accident or allegedly hit a person and it is necessary to urgently transfer an amount for treatment. After such calls, some persons came to the flats of these citizens and fraudulently took money from them, the police said.

According to the police, in particular, $16 thousand, $20 thousand and $30 thousand were stolen from citizens by deception.

From 27 July till now 28 cases of fraud committed in this way have been recorded in Yerevan.

Police warns and advises not to trust the information received from an unknown person and to check its authenticity through relatives and acquaintances in order not to become a victim of fraud. -0-
