Yerevan has its own agenda in negotiations with Baku, assures the head of the Ministry of Economy
ArmInfo. Negotiations between
Armenia and Azerbaijan are currently ongoing, with Armenia having its
own agenda. This was stated by the Minister of Economy Gevorg
Papoyan, during a briefing with journalists on August 8 in response
to a question about Azerbaijan's goals in the Armenian-Azerbaijani
negotiations and whether Armenia will make new concessions.
"We have our own agenda, and the negotiations are ongoing. I read the latest
statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which mentioned that
one of the important points on our agenda was agreed upon
bilaterally. I believe this is a significant moment for the
continuation the negotiations," he said. Addressing the issue of
changing the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia at the request
of Azerbaijan, the Minister noted that the Republic of Armenia can
only amend its Constitution through the decision of its citizens.
"Armenia will not change its Constitution at the request of any
country. Whether Armenia changes its Constitution or not is an
internal matter of the Republic of Armenia and the decision of the
citizens of the Republic of Armenia," Papoyan concluded.
