However, passenger transport saw a notable increase, with 107,637.5 thousand people transported, up by 22.8% from the previous year.

The bulk of the cargo transport—5,872.2 thousand tons—was handled by road transport, though this sector experienced a 9.6% decline from January-June 2023. Pipeline transport accounted for 972.9 thousand tons (down 8.2%), railway transport for 576.7 thousand tons (down 57.9%), and air transport for 17.3 thousand tons, which saw a 13.8% increase.

The cargo turnover for the reporting period totaled 2,255.5 million ton-kilometers, a decrease of 11.7% compared to the same period last year. Turnover by pipeline transport was 1,537.4 million ton-kilometers (down 9%), by road transport 560.9 million ton-kilometers (up 10.6%), by railway 151.7 million ton-kilometers (down 56.5%), and by air 5.5 million ton-kilometers (down 35.3%).

In the first six months of 2024, 87,830.6 thousand passengers were transported by road (up 25%), 17,147.8 thousand by electric transport (up 16.3%), 2,397.6 thousand by air (unchanged), and 261.5 thousand by railway (up 10.1%).

Passenger turnover for the period was 1,964.0 million passenger-kilometers, a decrease of 20.8% compared to January-June 2023. Road transport accounted for 1,008.8 million passenger-kilometers (up 14.4%), air transport for 863.8 million passenger-kilometers (down 43%), electric transport for 68.1 million passenger-kilometers (up 17.2%), and railway transport for 23.3 million passenger-kilometers (down 4.9%).
