Government to provide financial assistance to employers hiring displaced Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians

ArmInfo. The Armenian authorities will provide financial support to those employers who hire internally displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, within the framework of the program, the employer will be able to hire Artsakh residents who were forcibly evicted from Nagorno-Karabakh in September 2023 and who are registered with the territorial centers of the Unified Social Service, have the status of unemployed and have not been taxpayers in the last month. In order to take advantage of the program, this category of citizens will need to contact any regional center of the Unified Social Service.

The maximum amount of support for employers, as specified by the Ministry, within the framework of the program may be 50,000 AMD per month for three months as compensation for income tax, stamp duty and, in cases established by law, social contributions calculated from the beneficiary's salary. When organizing the labor practice of an internally displaced person from Nagorno-Karabakh for a period of three months, the employer will be paid an amount of 165,000 AMD per month as compensation for the beneficiary's salary and for another 3 months, taxes and mandatory fees calculated from the recipient's salary will be reimbursed (maximum 50,000 AMD per month).

At the same time, under the program, the employer can hire an unlimited number of Artsakh residents.  However, if the contract is terminated before the expiration of the specified period, the employer will be obliged to pay compensation in the amount of the sum paid to the beneficiary as compensation for training and scholarships during the period of training organized on his recommendation, or return the amount paid as compensation for wages.
