YEREVAN, August 20. /ARKA/. A recent publication in Russian media, based on a joint study by the International Anti-Counterfeit Associationnbsp; and the Union of Brandy, Alcohol, and Spirits Producers, has raised concerns regarding the quality of Armenian brandy sold in Russia./pp

According to the study, 200 samples of brandy from over 20 brands produced by 10 of Armenia's largest manufacturers were purchased from stores in Russia’s retail chains. These samples were analyzed by an independent laboratory at the All-Russian Research Institute of Brewing, Non-Alcoholic, and Wine Industry. The results, as reported by Russian state news agency TASS, indicated that 177 of the samples (89%) showed violations, with nearly half containing non-grape-derived spirits. Only 23 samples fully met the Russian state standards and legal requirements./pp

Responding to an ARKA inquiry, the Armenian Economy Ministry stated that they have not yet received any official notification. The Ministry indicated that they will address the matter further once they have reviewed the necessary information./pp br/p
