Shraddha Kapoor's limited screen time in Stree 2 explained; Amar Kaushik reacts, 'Jis tarah se usne entry ki hai...'
Stree 2, the much-awaited horror comedy, hit theatres on August 15 and has been receiving rave reviews from both audiences and critics. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film is a sequel to the 2018 superhit movie Stree. The star-studded cast includes Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. The movie opened with a strong start at the box office and continues to dominate, moving towards the 300 crore mark globally in gross box office collections. It clashed with three movies: Khel Khel Mein, Vedaa, and Double iSmart.
While Stree 2 is enjoying tremendous love from the audience, some fans have expressed concerns about the limited screen time for certain characters. Some fans have pointed out that Shraddha Kapoor, despite being a key part of the film, has less screen presence. Aparshakti Khurana's role also seems to diminish in the second half, which some fans found disappointing.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Amar Kaushik addressed these concerns. According to the Stree 2 director, the limited screen time for Aparshakti's character was intentional and aligned with the script's demands. Kaushik stated that even Abhishek Banerjee's Jana appears 40 minutes into the story. The reason Khurana's character is seen less in the second half is because he's hypnotised by Sarkata.
The director further clarified that the focus remains on what the script requires rather than on the length of an actor's role. Furthermore, in response to some fans complaining that Shraddha Kapoor also has limited screen time, the Bhediya director stated that it was necessary to ensure that her impactful entry into the film remained memorable.He said, "Lekin agar Shraddha zyada dikhti, toh jis tarah ki entry ki usne, uska impact nahin hota." Again, Amar stated that the script is their Bible, and everything needs to feel organic. The director also stated that the producer had given him freedom when it comes to the story, and that's what he wanted to do.

Meanwhile, Stree 2 also has special appearances from Varun Dhawan and Akshay Kumar. During the trailer launch, producer Dinesh Vijan stated that they were already working on Stree 3. It means we will see Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana in action again to find a new threat.
