Before IC 814: Kandahar Hijack on Netflix, Best of Vijay Varma to watch on OTT
Stree 2, which was released in theatres on August 15,, has garnered a tremendous amount of love and appreciation from audiences. The horror-comedy has already raked in approximately Rs 290 crore at the box office. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film features a stellar cast including Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee. It is the much-anticipated sequel to the 2018 hit, Stree.
One of the highlights of the Stree franchise is the dynamic friendship between Rajkummar Rao's character, Vicky, Abhishek Banerjee's Jana, and Aparshakti Khurana's Bittu. In the film, Bittu is notably not fond of Shraddha Kapoor's character. He often gets frustrated with Vicky for having romantic dreams about her and is convinced she is a witch. In Stree 2, Bittu even goes as far as to call Vicky's love interest 'pisachni' (demoness). BollywoodLife caught up with Aparshakti Khurana to find out why Bittu has such strong feelings of dislike towards his best friend's crush.
Aparshakti Khurana told us, 'Isn't it a very real life thing? You always have a problem with your best friend's girl. Jab aap dost hote ho, pehli baat toh aap unko khona chahte nahi. Dusri baat na har ek insaan, pyaar mein gyaan dena chahta hai ke tujhe yeh karna chahiye ya nahi. first date pe yeh karna chahiye, yeh nahi. Shaadi se pehle yeh karo, shaadi ke baad wo karo. I think itna free ka gyaan baat rahe hum saare ke saare that whatever i do or say has become more relevant. I think the way he says it, it's funny. 'tumhari girlfriend bhootiya hai be'. (When you're friends, firstly, you don't want to lose them. Secondly, everyone feels the need to give advice about love, like you should or shouldn't do this. On the first date, you should do this, not that. Before marriage, do this; after marriage, do that. I think we're all so eager to give free advice that whatever I do or say has become more relevant. I think the way he says it is funny.)
We also asked Aparshakti Khurana about his equation with Stree 2 co-star Rajkummar Rao and Abhishek Banerjee and what makes it memorable. The Jubilee star said, "A lot of it is very memorable. People said a very beautiful thing that you have really picked it up from where you left it. You know that that speak volumes about our chemistry as friends, forget actors from the fraternity. We love and respect each other. I think, wo jo pyaar mohabbat hai, wo on and off screen chalta rehta hai. Meri responsibility jyada khaane ko leke hoti thi. Kaunsi nayi film ya series dekhni hai wo Rajkummar batate hai. I think, it's like that for three of us. Now, people have said that we picked up from where we have left, waha pe dosti kaam aati hai. Agar aap dost nahi ho toh bohot mushkil hai yeh achieve karna. (I think that love and affection continue both on and off screen. My responsibility was mostly related to food. Rajkummar used to suggest us which new films or series to watch. I think that's how it is for the three of us. Now, people have said that we picked up where we left off, and that's where friendship comes into play. If you're not friends, it's very difficult to achieve this.)

The actor added, "If you realise, in Stree 1, we were were all were new and young in our work and age. Now, everyone has come after growing a lot in our career. Shraddha came from Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, Raj came from Mr & Mrs Maahi, I came from Jubilee, Abhishek came from Apurva and Pankaj ji came from OMG 2 and Fukrey 3. We all came from our respective achievements and yet, if you forget all that and arrive on sets and suddenly become Vicky, Bittu, Jana and Rudra of that film, that's where the chemistry lies. That's where we have won hearts of people. We tried to give them what they wanted and we have delivered what they wanted."
