Škoda Unveils Slavia Monte Carlo Edition Starting at ₹15.79 Lakh and New Sportline Variants
Škoda Auto India has marked a significant milestone in its motorsport history with the launch of the all-new Slavia Monte Carlo edition. This launch celebrates the 112th anniversary of the company’s debut in the prestigious Rallye Monte Carlo. Alongside this, Škoda has also expanded its product lineup by introducing the Sportline range across the Kushaq and Slavia models, further enriching the options available to Indian customers.
Commemorating a Motorsport Legacy
The Slavia Monte Carlo edition embodies Škoda’s rich heritage in motorsport, particularly its success in the Monte Carlo Rally, a connection that dates back over a century. This new edition is only the third Škoda model in India to bear the Monte Carlo badge, following the Rapid and the Kushaq. The Monte Carlo editions have always symbolized the brand’s victories at the legendary rally, and the Slavia Monte Carlo continues this tradition with its distinctive design and sporty features.
Design and Features: A Nod to Motorsport Heritage
The Slavia Monte Carlo is powered by Škoda’s proven 1.0 and 1.5 TSI engines, with transmission options including a six-speed manual, a six-speed automatic, and a seven-speed DSG for the 1.5 TSI variant. The car is available in Tornado Red and Candy White, both paired with a contrasting Deep Black roof, enhancing its sporty appeal. The exterior features several blacked-out elements, including the window garnish, ORVMs, radiator grille surround, fog lamp garnish, and R16 alloy wheels. The Monte Carlo badging on the front fenders, darkened taillights, and black spoilers further emphasize its dynamic character.
Inside, the Slavia Monte Carlo sports an all-black interior with subtle red accents that add a touch of sporty dynamism. The Monte Carlo Red Theme is carried through the décor frame, air vents, dashboard, and center console. The leatherette seats, steering wheel, and gear knob are also finished with red detailing, reinforcing the car’s connection to Škoda’s motorsport roots. The car also features Monte Carlo-inscribed scuff plates and sporty aluminum pedals, rounding off the interior’s rally-inspired aesthetics.
Sportline Range: Sporty Yet Accessible
In addition to the Monte Carlo edition, Škoda has introduced the Sportline trim across the Kushaq and Slavia ranges. This new variant is designed for customers who desire the sporty aesthetics of the Monte Carlo at a more accessible price point. The Sportline trim includes several blacked-out design elements similar to the Monte Carlo, such as the taillights, aero kit, and R16 black alloy wheels for the Slavia and R17 black alloys for the Kushaq. The Sportline trim also comes equipped with LED headlamps and DRLs, an electric sunroof, alloy foot pedals, and various other features that enhance its sporty appeal.
Expanding the Product Portfolio and Enhancing Customer Value
With the introduction of the Monte Carlo and Sportline editions, Škoda Auto India has further expanded its product portfolio, offering a wider range of choices for customers. These new variants are part of Škoda’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the Indian market, which is one of the brand’s largest outside Europe. The Slavia and Kushaq models are now available in Classic, Signature, Sportline, Monte Carlo, and Prestige variants, providing customers with more options to suit their preferences.
As part of the launch celebrations, Škoda Auto India offers benefits worth ₹30,000 to the first 5,000 customers who book any of the four models – Slavia Monte Carlo, Slavia Sportline, Kushaq Monte Carlo, or Kushaq Sportline. This offer is valid until September 6, 2024, adding further value to the customers seeking to experience the brand’s sporty new offerings.
Safety and Legacy
Škoda’s commitment to safety is evident across its product range, with every model equipped with a minimum of six airbags as standard. The Kushaq and Slavia have received a full 5-star adult and child safety rating under Global NCAP, aligning with the brand’s focus on providing safe and reliable vehicles. The Slavia Monte Carlo and Sportline editions further extend Škoda’s fleet of 5-star safe cars in India, reinforcing the brand’s reputation for safety and quality.
