Kasia Abgaryan: Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijani prisons not  ignored by the international community

ArmInfo. Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijani prisons are not ignored by the international community. This was stated by Kasia Abgaryan, Judge of the Supreme Court of the Administrative District of Orange County,  California, during a press conference in Yerevan on September 13.

She noted that the release of hostages is a political issue, and  appropriate steps must be taken in parallel with the peace agenda  initiated by the Armenian government. The judge also mentioned that  this issue is being discussed with France, EU countries, and the  United States.  Abgaryan emphasized the importance of amplifying the  voices of victims in every possible way, not just through government  mechanisms.  she said.

Voicees should be raised not only by Armenians and members of the  diaspora, but, according to Abgaryan, also through the governments of  the countries where the diaspora is present.  At the same time, a US  Supreme Court judge reported that on the anniversary of Azerbaijan's  military aggression against Artsakh (September 19), 4 citizens who  were subjected to cruel treatment by the Azerbaijani side will travel  to the US to meet with congressmen. According to her, this is the  first time an event like has occurred.

Abgaryan also discussed Armenia's membership in the International  Criminal Court (ICC). In this regard, she emphasized that the ICC  should be seen as a shield, not a sword. Of course, there is no  guarantee that Armenia's participation in this international body  will prevent possible crimes by Azerbaijan, but, in her opinion, it  will make the political leadership of this country think twice before  acting. , the  judge emphasized.
