New York Mayor accused of taking bribe not to release statement on Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day

ArmInfo. The US Attorney's Office is accusing New York Mayor Eric Adams of accepting large bribes, including from Turkey, not to release a statement on Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day. This was reported by  AP.  The source notes that federal prosecutors have unsealed an indictment accusing Adams of letting Turkish officials and businesspeople buy his influence with illegal campaign contributions and lavish overseas trips.  Adams, a Democrat, faces conspiracy, wire fraud and bribery charges in a five-count indictment. According to the US Attorney, Adams had a duty to disclose the gifts he received, but year after year "kept the public in the dark".
