In November last year, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan stated that Armenia was negotiating to join the Iranian port of Chabahar to gain access to India and other Asian countries. The port of Chabahar is located in southeastern of Iran. India and Iran agreed to jointly develop the port in 2003, but the project was delayed due to international sanctions against Iran.
