Coldplay Mumbai concert: Chris Martin's band retires amid ticket black scam

This news is going to break hearts of millions of Coldplay band fans. The band has announced that it will retire soon. Yes, the confirmation has come from the band's lead vocalist, Chris Martin. The singer revealed that the band will retire after their 12th album is out. Along with Martin, other members of the band include Will Champion, Guy Berryman, and Jonny Buckland, and they are managed by Phil Harvey. This news has come as the band is busy with their 'Music of the Spheres' tour.

The Hymn for the Weekend singer appeared on Apple Music's podcast with Zale Lowe and made these big revelations. Chris Martin said that they were going to do proper 12 albums and that's a promise. The singer reasoned that for their critics, less would be even more and it is important they have a limit. In the same interview, he explained the reason for having limited discography for the Coldplay band.

Martin said, "There are only seven Harry Potters. There's only 12 and a half Beatles' albums; there's about the same for Bob Marley, so all our heroes, and also having that limit means that the quality control is high right now, and for a song to make it, it's almost impossible, which is great." He further added that it takes a lot of wrangling of people to make an album as great as a band. He aims to give others some life for themselves. The band's final album will release in 2025.

Chris stated that he and his band members might do collaborative things together in the future. However, the Coldplay band "finishes then.". The news has come amidst the Coldplay concert in Mumbai and the negative headlines it is grabbing due to the alleged black marketing scam of the tickets.

Recently, the CEO of BookMyShow, the concert's official ticketing partner website, was summoned by the Mumbai police. As per the reports, the platform is being questioned by alleged black marketing of concert tickets. However, the team has denied the same. The concert will take place in Mumbai on January 18, 19 and 21 at Navi Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium.
