ArmInfo. The CIS Foreign Ministers' Council meeting in a narrow format was held in a trusting, constructive atmosphere and was effective. This was stated by Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, during a working meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers' Council on October 7. "We had a detailed discussion about the progress of multilateral cooperation within the CIS, exchanged views on regional and global issues, including ongoing conflicts and crises, " the Russian minister said and noted the ongoing work of the CIS Foreign Ministers' Council.
In turn, CIS Executive Committee Secretary General Sergey Lebedev reported that at the narrow format meeting, the CIS Foreign Ministers approved its agenda and regulations. "The heads of delegations primarily focused on frank discussions on current international issues and collaboration within the Commonwealth," he said. Lebedev also informed that by decision of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council, the next meeting of the heads of foreign policy departments will take place on April 11 in Kazakhstan. At the same time, he added that it was decided to sign all the documents on the agenda without discussion, as they have been fully agreed upon.
Note that the event is attended by the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov. The Armenian side has already issued a statement, noting that there are no plans for a separate meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan on the sidelines of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council.
