When Rekha called Amitabh Bachchan her inner conscience, 'I just soaked in whatever...'

Today, megastar Amitabh Bachchan turns 82. A lot of wishes have been pouring for the actor on social media since last night. In his career spanning over 5 decades, Big B has entertained the audience with some phenomenal performances. Even when the pan-India term wasn't used widely, Amitabh managed to leave a great impression with his movies and performances even in the southern part of India. Often, his co-stars have many good things to say about him. One such actor is Rekha, whose on-screen pairing with Amitabh was immensely loved.

Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha have worked in several movies together, like Do Anjaane, Khoon Pasina, Ganga Ki Saugandh, Silsila, Mr. Natwarlal and several others. However, the movie that impacted the audience most, despite not doing well at the box office, was Silsila. Along with Big B and Rekha, the movie also stars Jaya Bachchan in the lead role. It is also the last film in which the duo worked together.

Long ago, in an interview, the veteran actress got candid about how much she learnt as an actor from Amitabh Bachchan. Rekha reminisced of the time they worked together and said how the memories come rushing back to her like drops of rain pelting on her head and described every drop as a 'frisson of feelings'. The actress said that whatever she is as an actress today, she owns it 100 percent to Big B. "I just soaked in whatever he had to offer just observing him. And all of that comes back to me like a time release pill."

Further in this entertainment news, Rekha added that whenever she feels stuck or has a mental block during her performance, he remembers what she learnt from her Silsila co-star. The actress contributed Big B 'immeasurably' to her being an actor and called him her inner conscience. The Ijaazat actress said, "He's like my inner conscience, which guides me through life and my performances. The conscience does not consciously teach you anything. It's always there. You just tap into it whenever you need it." She further said that as time passes, she believes the connection is more real, like the voice of God. "You may not get to see it but you feel it all the time," stated the actress.
