Deputy Defense Minister names reasons for non-combat deaths in the army

YEREVAN, October 17. /ARKA/. The number of non-combat deaths in the Armenian army has decreased, Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan said on Thursday./pp

Nevertheless, as Sargsyan noted, non-combat deaths in the army are a cause for serious concern./pp

According to him, the Defense Ministry does not try to justify itself in any way, but the majority of such deaths are suicides./pp

He said servicemen are killed in traffic accidents, aAs well as in various emergency situations, assuring that the perpetrators are almost always identified and brought to justice./pp

At the same time, Sargsyan said that the overwhelming majority of the above-mentioned deaths are not directly related to what happened in a particular military unit./pp

The deputy defense minister also reported that this year, compared to last year, the number of deaths in the army ghas decreased. --0--/p
