India Bike Week 2024: A Two-Day Celebration of Motorcycling

India Bike Week (IBW), one of the country’s most iconic motorcycling events, is gearing up for its 11th edition, scheduled for December 6th and 7th in Vagator, Goa. Themed as the “Next Decade” of IBW, this year’s festival promises a packed lineup of races, music performances, bike showcases, and interactive sessions aimed at celebrating motorcycling culture and community spirit.

Racing and Competitions

This year, IBW emphasizes grassroots racing with two FMSCI-affiliated events: the IBW Hill Climb, presented by Reise Moto, and the Flat Track Race, developed in collaboration with Harley-Davidson. With a total prize pool of ₹12 lakhs, these races encourage amateur racers to compete on professional platforms. Registrations for the Flat Track Race are open, capped at 81 entries, while the Hill Climb event promises high-adrenaline action.

Additionally, fun racetracks like the Gulf Syntrac Tiivra Action Games and IBW Dirt Dash will offer casual riders a chance to experience competitive racing. Special guest Xavier Simeon, a former MotoGP and Le Mans rider, will also interact with fans and share his racing journey.

New Launches and Performances

IBW 2024 serves as a platform for brands such as Hero MotoCorp, KTM, and Harley-Davidson to unveil new motorcycles, accessories, and concepts. The event will also feature live performances from acclaimed artists like rapper Divine, hip-hop sensation Brodha V, and indie musician OAFF. Adding to the excitement, the Moto Mayhem FMX Show will see international freestyle motocross athletes perform breathtaking stunts.

Celebrating Legacy

Marking a decade of IBW, the festival will spotlight stories from motorcycle clubs and riding groups. One standout story will earn its club a custom Harley-Davidson Street Bob crafted by Bombay Custom Works. Additionally, the Big Trip Tent will host talks by international and Indian motorcycling icons such as Elspeth Beard, the first British woman to circumnavigate the globe on a bike, and renowned Indian adventurers like Meenakshi Das and Tagore Cherry.

Safety and Inclusivity

The festival includes initiatives promoting road safety, led by advocates such as Jaswin Bose and Nikhil Sood. For younger audiences, IBW will conduct safety workshops in colleges, blending travel education with responsible riding practices.

Art and Culture Showcases

IBW 2024 will also feature a Collectors’ Corner, showcasing vintage bikes and scooters, and a platform for moto-artists like ANG Wheels to display their work. Popular biking cafes like Throttle Shrottle and Super Chai will provide spaces for enthusiasts to connect.

With a mix of high-octane racing, cultural exchanges, and community-building activities, IBW 2024 aims to unite India’s motorcycling community under its rallying cry, “Everyone as One.”
